On July 11th, 2025, led by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India (MeitY), a stakeholder consultation meeting on the transition of electronic equipment safety standards was held. The conference focused on the current two standards, IS 13252 (Part 1): 2020 and IS 616: 2017, which will be replaced by the new standard IS/IEC 62368-1:2023 (4th edition) in the future. This standard update aims to make Indian regulations more in line with international standards, which will have a significant impact on the electronic equipment industry.

This amendment adds restrictions for 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4,6-di-tert-amylphenol (UV-328) to Part A of Annex I of the POPs Regulation. The amendment will enter into force 20 days after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
